Sustainable Ply is a UK-based materials innovation company developing lightweight sheet materials made from responsibly sourced plywood skins and re-used cardboard cores. Founded by designer and maker Paris May, the company grew from more than a decade of hands-on experimentation with cardboard as a functional structural material, beginning with furniture projects at university and evolving through extensive prototyping and testing. Manufactured in the UK, Sustainable Ply panels are CNC-router compatible, structurally efficient, and suitable for applications including interior panelling, furniture components, exhibition builds, and temporary or modular installations. The company works closely with
academic and industry partners to test performance, circularity, and end-of-life pathways, ensuring material innovation is grounded in real-world use.
